There is an issue with the electricity supply to the village. Following a brief outage earlier this afternoon the power supply is being delivered at a lower voltage than normal. This will affect some electrical devices in our homes but not all. For example, TVs may be working but Cookers may not.
I contacted the power delivery company and they say:
- there was an earlier issue with a High Voltage section of the grid;
- as a result our supply is running at lower than normal voltage;
- they are working on the problem and expect to resolve it by 4pm this afternoon;
- they advise that we should switch off any appliances not being used to avoid them being damaged by the low voltage.
If you have any concerns – call the power delivery company on 105 (ask to be put through to Scottish and Southern Electricity).
